In the heart of nowhere, surrounded by the cold, unforgiving expanse of the motorway, stands a dilapidated relic of the past – CAFE 404. It's the kind of place that time forgot, but for Jimmy, it's a living memory of his long-gone parents. Despite the new motorway cutting off access, Jimmy clings to this rundown establishment, where he's spent his entire life.
Jimmy isn't alone, though. His companions in this quirky drama include Mara, the rebellious girl; Nicko, the perpetually grumpy handyman with a pension plan that seems more like a distant dream; and Abi, the Congolese immigrant who works his culinary magic in the kitchen.
Jimmy's worst nightmare becomes reality when the bank forecloses on his diner. But a rare opportunity presents itself with a mysterious bag left behind in the bathroom. As the night unfolds, trust dissolves into thin air, and the scent of greed hangs heavy. Relationships unravel, and the characters find themselves entangled in a web of distrust and buried secrets. Jimmy and his misfit crew must navigate not only their internal rivalries but also run-ins with the local police, surreal travelers, and drug barons—all in a desperate bid to save their crumbling diner.
The laughs come laced with irony, and the absurdity of the situation is as thick as the grease on the diner's griddle. As the characters stumble through their misadventures, the audience is left wondering whether the real threat is the impending closure of the diner or the eccentric cast of characters trying to save it. In the end, the laughter might just be the glue holding together the fragile remains of Jimmy's world—a world that's as absurd and unpredictable as the motorway itself.
STORY
Jimmy lives in a region where people's lives are teetering on the verge of nothingness and insignificance. Driven by the desperation that social and family issues have driven them, and when the occasion is given, they go beyond their limits.
Jimmy will be faced with a number of dilemmas. A struggle between legality and illegality. His personal interest and the interest of the people around him. But mainly maintaining mental balance and filling an insurmountable void left by the lack of his family.
It is the dark comedy that will allow us to believe in the impossible and the improbable and will help us adapt to the setting of the story. It is my own interpretation of reality that I believe acts as a counterpoint to the gloomy surrounding social space.
